The responsibility for protection of sensitive materials ultimately lies with the teams participating in the competition.
If you are looking to enter into discussions with third parties about your business idea you should take care to avoid disclosing anything which is confidential and could put your intellectual property at risk. You may want to consider using a confidentiality agreement prior to entering into any discussions.
